What is Android RCS Archival?
RCS (Rich Communication Services) messages archival is a feature that allows businesses to capture and archive messages sent by employees using Google Messages on any fully managed Android device.
CellTrust’s mobile communication platform SL2 Enterprise Capture streamlines mobile communication compliance to meet strict regulatory recordkeeping requirements. All Google Messages (RCS, SMS & MMS) sent or received through the device’s default messaging app are securely captured by CellTrust SL2 Enterprise, then archived to the organization’s Enterprise Information Archiving (EIA) platform for compliance and retention. The addition of Android RCS Archival expands CellTrust’s extensive capture capabilities and enhances mobile communication security and compliance.

Once configured, the system facilitates the logging of every significant RCS message event – including when a message is sent, received, edited, or deleted. This technical implementation ensures that archival applications have a timely opportunity to capture message data before any potential user modifications, such as deleting a message.
