CellTrust's World of Trust Implementation Models
CellTrust offers SecureSMS in a CellTrust Hosted, Customer Hosted, or Public implementation model with two connectivity options.
CellTrust Hosted
In this model, CellTrust provides your company or organization access to your SecureSMS Gateway Appliance that is located in our secure data center. For those who do not wish to deal with daily maintenance and space demands, this model offers quick and easy set up with lower upfront costs. The CellTrust Hosted model establishes a World of Trust environment that can be managed by your network administrator, security officer, or other designated manager. Access to the SecureSMS Gateway Appliance is over a secure communications path via SSL. From the SecureSMS console, administrators manage system settings, implement roles and policies, white or black list mobile devices, transmit secure or non-secure messages, and report on messaging status. The SecureSMS Gateway appliance may also be accessed using our Secure API for users wishing to integrate SecureSMS into an existing application. Customer Hosted
In this model, CellTrust delivers to your company or organization your own dedicated SecureSMS® Gateway appliance. The Customer Hosted model is ideal for government, healthcare, or other organizations that require the ultimate in security, access, and control. As with the CellTrust Hosted model, this model also establishes a World of Trust environment. In terms of functioning and features, a Customer Hosted appliance behaves the same as a CellTrust Hosted appliance. See your CellTrust representative for a detailed overview.
Public
Private individuals wishing to secure their SMS messages can also take advantage of SecureSMS. This consumer version offers total end-to-end encryption of text messages, but lacks the capability to administer, manage, or report on your environment. This model is ideal for private individuals who crave a high degree of security for messaging to close associates, friends, and family. Individuals wishing to implement the Public version of SecureSMS can simply download the Micro Client directly from the CellTrust corporate website or text SSMS to 32075 to receive the installation link.
Connectivity Options
CellTrust offers two ways to process SecureSMS messages, the CellTrust SMS Gateway or Direct to Carrier.
CellTrust SMS Gateway
Connection of your SecureSMS implementation using the CellTrust SMS Gateway gives you access to over 800 carriers in over 200 countries worldwide. Using the CellTrust SMS Gateway provides superior throughput capabilities of 32 messages per second or greater. Connection from your SecureSMS Gateway Appliance to the CellTrust SMS Gateway can be through HTTP or SMPP depending on your application's capabilities and throughput requirements. Direct to Carrier
Messaging direct to the carrier utilizes a specialized modem that transmits your secure messaging from the SecureSMS Gateway Appliance wirelessly to the applicable carrier. Modems can utilize a single port connecting to a single carrier, or multiple ports connecting to multiple carriers. Modems can also be stacked providing additional capability. Each carrier requires a carrier-specific SIM card. Modems provide a significant advantage over short code messaging in that they eliminate per message costs though they do not accomodate the same throughput capabilities.
