Yes, you will need to install SecureSMS Micro Client to send and receive secure messages.

What carriers and phones are supported?
SecureSMS is a cross-carrier, cross-platform application that can be run on an estimated 100 million handsets with major carriers in US. See Installation Guide and Supported Phones for details.

How secure are the messages?
CellTrust SecureSMS utilizes a patent-pending, vanguard AES technology, whereby each mobile phone has a unique encryption key and decryption is limited to the designated device.

I am an existing CellTrust customer and I am using SMS Gateway. Can I use existing API to send secure messages?
The SMS Gateway APIs do not support SecureSMS.

How can I purchase SecureSMS?
There are no added costs for end-users utilizing SecureSMS if it is part of a service offered by banks, credit card companies, healthcare organizations, or any other entity that provides mobile services. Standard messaging rates may apply. If you wish to communicate with other handsets, SecureSMS Consumer Plan activation is required.
