SMS Gateway functionality

The CellTrust SMS Gateway acts as an intermediary linking your software applications (and content) to the carrier networks on the other side of the mobile equation. The process occurs as follows:

A request containing a message and a phone number is submitted to the gateway (through the CellTrust API) The CellTrust SMS Gateway locates the country and carrier network associated with the phone number. The message is then passed to the respective carrier The carrier routes the message to the recipient's phone number.

Mobile Short Codes

Short Codes, usually 5 to 6 digits in length, are used by carriers to pass messages through their networks for communication between program operators and mobile devices. To run any mobile SMS program and utilize the CellTrust SMSGateway, you need to use a mobile short code.
