CellTrust SecureSMS® PC Installation Instruction
When data connection is not available, mobile handset users or the IT team may use a data cable or Bluetooth ® communication to install the Micro Client. SecureSMS Micro Client files are copied onto a computer for transferring to mobile devices.
Detailed instructions and minimum requirements to use above method is described following.
Installation Using a Cable
Minimum Requirements:- Desktop application software
- Cable
- PC
Instructions:
- Load the appropriate desktop software for your phone. Make sure your desktop software is capable of loading an application on the phone (e.g., use Microsoft's Active Sync ® for Windows Mobile® phones.
- Connect your phone to your PC using your cable.
- Download the appropriate software from bottom of this page
- Follow the instructions for your desktop software to install SecureSMS client on your phone
- Once installed follow the installation instruction
Installation by using Bluetooth in lieu of a cable
When a cable is not available, Bluetooth can be used as a table to make a link between your mobile phone and PC.Minimum requirements:
- Desktop application software
- Phone with Bluetooth capabilities
- PC with Bluetooth capabilities
Instructions:
- Load the appropriate desktop software for your phone. Make sure your desktop software is capable of loading an application on the phone (e.g., use Microsoft's Active Sync ® for Windows Mobile® phones).
- Setup your phone to "Discover" mode
- On your PC, discover your phone. Enter password on both phone and PC to pair them.
- Download the appropriate software from www.celltrust.com (See the download matrix below for the appropriate application.)
- Follow the instructions for your desktop software to install the Secure SMS Micro Client on your phone.
Installation by using Bluetooth
Bluetooth connection may be used to put the Micro Client file directly in the appropriate folder to be installed.Minimum requirements:
- Mobile phone with Bluetooth and Obex ® (Read more about Obex)
Instructions:
- Setup your phone in "Discover" mode
- On your PC, discover your phone. Enter password on both phone and PC to pair your phone to your PC.
- Download the appropriate software from the bottom of this page
- Copy the software to your phone using Obex
- In most cases, the files will appear in Inbox
- Open the file to start installation
- Once installed, follow the installation instruction

Always start with the Download Now page first. This page provides the latest compatibility information and the best installation methods for the phone.If you cannot find your phone on the Download Now page (i.e., the carrier, manufacturer, or handset is not listed,) you may still download and install the SecureSMS Micro Client if you have:
- A data plan service
A data plan service (A data plan allows you to go to a web site using your phone's browser. To subscribe to a data plan, contact your carrier.) - Supported operating systems/platform
- BlackBerry (http://www.rim.com/products/handhelds/index.shtml)
- Windows Phone (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile)
- J2ME (Java based phones that can run Java applications) that at least have MIDP-2 profile and CLDC-1 configuration. You may find a list of J2ME phones on this website (http://www.club-java.com/TastePhone/J2ME/MIDP_mobile.jsp).
