CellTrust SecureSMS® Installation Guide
SecureSMS Micro Client can be installed on the mobile device via a number of user-friendly methods. Installation is quick, easy, and generally takes only a few minutes. For most major operating systems/platforms, a compatible version is available (e.g., J2ME, BREW, BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, etc.)
Enterprise Deployment
SecureSMS Micro Client is deployed to enterprise handsets using enterprise mobile management products such as RIM’s Blackberry Enterprise Server ® (BES) or Microsoft Mobile Device Manager ®. The process is initiated by IT staff in the organization.
Direct download from web
Mobile phone users may download the Micro Client from your web site, the CellTrust web site, or a carrier mall (where available.) The mobile user initiates a web site download. After a phone number is entered on the web site, an SMS message is sent to the handset that contains the link for the download page. To install the application, the user follows the instructions provided with the download link. See the Web Download Instructions page for more detail information.
Pre-loaded by carrier or manufacturer
In the event that carriers have pre-loaded the application on handsets, handset users should contact the carrier to activate the service.
Download from a PC (by using a cable or Bluetooth)
When a data connection is not available, mobile handset users or the IT team may use a data cable or Bluetooth communication to install the Micro Client. The SecureSMS Micro Client files are copied on to a computer and then transferred to a mobile device. Detailed installation instructions are available through CellTrust.
Flash Memory Card
The SecureSMS Micro Client comes pre-loaded on a variety of flash memory or SD cards. If your handset supports flash memory, this is an easy option to transfer the required installation files onto the handset. The mobile user initiates the process by placing the flash memory in the handset and running the installation program. Please see Flash Memory Instructions for details.
If you cannot find your phone on the Download Now page (i.e., the carrier, manufacturer, or handset is not listed,) you may still download and install the SecureSMS Micro Client if you have:
